The Obamacare wars have ignored what really drives American anxiety about health care: Medical costs are decimating family budgets and turning the U.S. health system into a runaway $3.7 trillion behemoth.
Neither approach gets at the underlying problem — reducing costs for both ordinary people and the health care burden on the overall U.S. economy. And the health care spending conversation itself gets muddled. People’s actual health care bills aren’t always top of mind in Washington.
This isn't really a BOTH SIDES issue, now is it.

2/2 US spends 17.8% of GDP on healthcare and 8% of GDP on administrative costs, more than double the ave 3%, but has the lowest life expectancy and highest infant mortality rate. Private sector spending is 3x that if comparable countries. Why can’t US make it more affordable?
The US spends $10,224 per person on healthcare compared to an average $5,280 in comparable countries. Average spent on drugs $1,443 per person versus $749. Spending is more bc of inc drug prices, cost of medical devices and administrative costs. 1/2
No it doesn't obscure anything. We can all see the cost for covrage and the insane deductables have made insurance for most a bust!
I don't like the 'aspect of Obamacare' that saddles business with the cost. Why are job creators responsible to fund it?
Cost means NOTHING if there is NO bang for the buck. ObamaCare has the most bang for the time being. ONLY DEMs with the White House back and a CLEAR congressional MAJORITY will be able to repair it to restore the cost reduction and the cost effectiveness. The GOP are useless.
. Again you conflate Healthcare & Health Insurance. Most people get Health Insurance from Employers at minimal cost. What is needed is low cost Health Insurance & Govt can do that by eliminating all the Regulations that do that.
This is actually a surprising and non-partisan article on the health care debacle and the reality that there are no magic solutions until you address the cost issue, which is not a one size fits all problem.
