President Trump attends a rally in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Thursday. Trump said he asked a group of U.S. senators to create a health-care plan to replace Obamacare, as his administration seeks to have the law signed by his predecessor invalidated in court.
It marks the second significant legal defeat in as many days on the issue for President Trump, who not only recently revived his administration’s efforts to undo and replace former president Barack Obama’s signature achievement but also vowed to make health care a centerpiece of his reelection campaign. On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge James E.
The news comes amid a renewed effort by Trump and his administration to pivot toward health care ahead of 2020. Last week, the White House outlined how “choice and competition in health care markets” was beneficial for the consumer. On Tuesday, the administration made a surprise move to strike down the ACA yet again, when the Justice Department argued that the Obama-era law should be thrown out in its entirety.
[‘The Russia hoax is finally dead’: At Michigan rally, Trump declares victory in Mueller investigation] “We are pleased that the District Court saw past the Trump administration’s transparent effort to sabotage our health care system and gut these critical consumer protections in the service of its partisan agenda,” James said in a statement to the media Thursday night.
Ha! 👍🏼
Tradeoffs here. Not allowing reasonably priced insurance for those harmed by the ACA will decrease the ACA’s popularity, increase the uninsured rate, and reignite calls to repeal, which had been dying in Trump’s improved market. This is not an ACA win.
REPUBLICANS DON'T HAVE A HEALTHCARE PLAN. Their only plan is to strip healthcare from millions of Americans.
Presidents dont make law..that would be Congress...Senate..Civics 101 damn..people... read the GD thing...
medit8now Maybe it's because TRUMP HAS NO HEALTHCARE PLAN. Sorry to yell, but geeze.
it is called 'The Affordable Care Act (ACA)'. Use it instead of perpetuating the smear name & smear campaign Republicans created to trash the healthcare law.
Good.
We can't see it, but Trump's tiptoeing through the quagmire of decades of lies so much that he's actually wearing stilts.
So we will end up in the SCOTUS. The WAPO is such a partisan propaganda tool they are incapable of actual journalism anymore.
'An activist judge'. There. Fixed it for you
So, Trump was going to extend MediCare for all stealing the dems thunder?
The constitution and the American Peope also reject Trumps life in general.
Activist judges doing the Lords work
