FAIRBANKS, Alaska - According to the World Health Organization, about 55 million people are believed to be living with Dementia. About 25% of diagnoses come from vascular diseases. Constricted or blocked blood vessels can deprive your brain and body of vital nutrients. This can lead to a condition called vascular dementia.

Factors that increase the risk of vascular dementia also increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. Dr. English says symptoms of vascular dementia include issues with reasoning, memory, judgement, planning and other thought processes.
