Seattle public schools blame tech giants for social media harm in lawsuit

and TikTok-owner ByteDance with the U.S. District Court, claimed they purposefully designed their products to hook young people to their platforms and were creating a mental health crisis.

The lawsuit says the companies' actions have been a substantial factor in causing a youth mental health crisis.

It's not just kids it's causing problems for. Just spend 10 minutes on Twitter to see the hate and vileness it's created.

Seatle public schools should be sued for corrupting our children along with hi tech giants. No one gives a fuck about our kids anymore. Teaching kids they r racist and to confuse them about thier gender all at a young age hurts them especially with high tech visually aid in it

Any rational adult with two brain cells would blame these companies. They need to be labeled and regulated what they are : a vice. Study after study shows how social media fires up the same places in the brain drugs do, and they are obviously addictive as them as well.

Schools are an accountable institution that should not be allowed to use or take advantage of the social media it’s not made for a classroom

Public schools should have strict networked device protocols. As in not during school hours for students. Unless is CS class, maybe.

Why aren't parents being held responsible for their kids Iphone use? Big tech has a piece but really, this falls on poor parenting.

Believe me the schools were going downhill long before social media came along. During the Carter administration the federal department of education was formed , and since then has had zero effect on grades in education. The only thing that has gone up is the number of adminis.

It’s ridiculous, do not use social media if you are teenagers, social media is not mandatory it’s responsible adults who sign up to read the news or express their opinions watching war news can be distressing for kids but these are optional functions they can simply turn off
