Sunak refuses to say if he has a private GP, saying 'it's not really relevant'

The Prime Minister said it was "not really relevant" as he admitted the health service is "undeniably under enormous pressure".

He said: "When it comes to the private sector in general, we should be making use of the independent sector. I don't have any problem with that whatsoever." He said he wants to discuss things that are "reasonable, that are affordable and responsible for the country".Shadow health secretary Wes Streeting says Mr Sunak "gave the impression of someone who not only doesn't use the NHS but doesn't understand the scale of the challenges or have a plan to deal with the fundamental problems".

FFS leave him alone and concentrate on the more pressing issues in the world. I would imagine most Train Drivers use private health, go and ask them…

marcuschown Did he really refuse to say, though? Seems like a pretty strong 'Yes, I do have a private GP, I'm not an amoral poort person.'

The way things are going I wish I could afford to have private healthcare because the way the NHS is acting is disgusting ever since we’ve gone into lockdown, this has been happening

Is it relevant?

He was brought up on money his parents earned from the NHS.

It's pretty obvious he has private health care. Most employers these days offer private health care. Highly doubt someone in his position doesn't enjoy the benefit of private health care

It’s wholly relevant, rishisunak. It means, yet again, that you are making decisions for which you personally will suffer no ill consequences, no matter how badly you fuck up.

Posh boy totally out of touch with the people

In the same way, Rishi is an irrelevance, I assume.

So that answer the question then

What is relevant is the disparity of being poorly and waiting hrs for an ambulance, weeks for a gp and days in an A&E queue or having the funds to summon an ambulance, get to see a dr within 30mins and have the comfort of a private en-suite room all within an hour.

He is spot-on not interested where he gets his healthcare from. it’s that he sorts NHS out. Typical BBC can’t get rid of the agony, aunts syndrome

🤮🤮🤮🤮

Well it isn't ... bet if he has an LTC he does!

And for once, he correct..

SaleemulHuq Yes, he has.

They all have private health care even Gary Nevile does.

Totally relevant, if it’s not effecting him he won’t care and that’s the problem with those rich millionaire mp’s, they should be forced to live with the consequences of their conservative policies

Of course he does and I would if I had his money.

It’s called private for a reason

It’s relevant because if you don’t trust the health service that you are ultimately responsible for, why don’t you actually try to fix it?

It's hard to vilify people for using private healthcare if they can afford it, but when that same group of people can then make decisions on the future of the NHS it would be irresponsible NOT to question whether they appreciate the importance of it to everyone else.

It’s not relevant to the fact that he might try privatising the NHS? 🙄 he clearly is private, he’s a millionaire ffs

Of course he has a private GP. If he used the NHS he would proudly say yes. People with money expect a standard of service poor people can only dream of. He knows the NHS is in crisis and will not deliver the service he expects. The rich only spend money if they have to.....

That'll be a yes then..... More hypocritical sh!te from leader of the fraud party🖕

Of course he has a private GP. He has the money to go private, ergo, he goes private. The NHS is not fit for purpose. Anyone with real money would go private every day of the week if they could.

I Believe if Sunak cannot resolve this stick action. it's time we call for [General Election] & put it to a ballot by the people. To select a new Leader of the country OR not whichever the case may be it time i think. to go to the country.

If I was rich I’d use private healthcare. Do see the issues. He’s not putting more pressure on the NHS

Do you have any proper news please?

So that’s a Yes then.

Laughable if any thinks he doesn’t!

And he’s right, it’s how he runs this country that matters, those that just can’t stand others’ possible wealth, are a joke, it’s the same with MPs earnings, it’s how they do their main job that’s the issue, Starmer saying Lammy can be an exception is laughable, but not a surprise

Anyone with enough money and sense would use a private health system rather than rely on the useless NHS.

He could go pretend he is in ICU

Of course he does the same as every prime minister has 😂 I'm not sure why this is even news.

If he did use the NHS he would have his PR crew all over it like a rash.

AKA “Yes he does”

All politicians and policy makers shouldn't be allowed to make decisions that they don't rely on.. That should be a new law in itself..

The public voted for this party; why all the fuss now?

He really is a piece of crap

Oh but it is, not even that he is paying for it but that he cannot be straight and give an honest answer.

That's a yes then. He really knows how the common person lives doesn't he. 🙄

It is, though. It takes normal people an hour to get an appointment with a locum they've never met who knows nothing about the condition that needs treating. He seems to live in a different reality.

Can you see a billionaire using GP services like us mere mortals?

It's very relevant as you clearly have no understanding of us working class RishiSunak

So that’s a yes then

Rishi Sunak says 'it's not relevant' if his family has private healthcareRishi Sunak says 'it isn't relevant' as he refuses to say if his family has private healthcare Course his family have private healthcare. I’d like to say the majority of senior executives at businesses have private health care. Even I do 😂 This means he has private healthcare. Two tier society. Of course it’s relevant. He’s got private healthcare because he knows the public healthcare system isn’t fit for purpose anymore, having been run into the ground by the Tories. Nice for him and his mates who won’t be counted within the resultant excess deaths.
