For type 2, weight related diabetes. Type 1 insulin dependent diabetes is NOT reversible

Decided to do this diet for 13wks from Jan to Apr this year. Dropped 3st and shocked the diabetes nurse with the results. (Especially as she had no idea I was planning to do it). Just had another blood test and I’m still on the remission list. DiabetesUK

Worst idea ever! That isn't going to help if it's all cakes and bread and sweeteners they eat. Type II diabetics need a diet that practically eliminates the aforementioned foods and increases healthy fats. Because that's how it's done. I'm 2 years insulin and medication free!

Not low calories. Low carbs works

Ah, yes. Those will work. Why can't docs admit the social/emotional role food plays in our lives? Prescribe a super low calorie diet all you want, but it won't work if people won't follow it. Moderate exercise like a daily walk +a bit of common sense eating is more effective.

Pls change your headline tweet to “type 2 diabetes”. Nothing can reverse Type 1 Diabetes which is auto immune & is lifelong & incurable.

If people eat what their pancreas understands, then correct levels of insulin will be released, diet drinks, sweeteners & additives confuse the system

Unless people have hit the “I am ready to do it” threshold no amount of dietary advise is going to help.
