"The doctors came around and said we urgently need to biopsy to see what type of cancer we're dealing with; nine days later we were still waiting," Mark said. He said it took nine days to get a biopsy done by private provider I-MED Radiology Network, and another nine to receive the results back.Mid North Coast health authorities say staffing shortages impact on wait times."It's just really hard to see go through that, and my mum's suffering big time," Mark said.
Mr Brennan said the direct care his father received had been excellent, but was disappointed at a systemic level. "We understand that attending an emergency department can be a stressful situation for people and we sincerely apologise to Mr Brennan for the extended wait he experienced and the distress this caused to him and his family," Mr Dowrick said.
Apologies are all we seem to get nowadays. The health system has been broken for years long before the pandemic & all we hear are promises & apologies. Let's see some real action for a change.
Too much money is and was given to the corporate world to the detriment of our healthcare,the success of private business should not be put before the health of citizens.
Beds are about nurses not doctors!
NSW better than Vic or QLD but all health systems under stress ... doctors working 18 hour days and being refused relief or overtime ...
