NSW has recorded nine new Omicron COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number in the state to 64.
The Hunter New England Health District yesterday recorded its first Omicron case, from a recently returned traveller from the UK. NSW Health said a public health investigation was underway into the transmission of the virus and more Omicron cases were expected in the Hunter region.At least 44 cases have been linked to a pub trivia night at the Oxford Tavern in Petersham, in Sydney's inner-west — authorities suspect several cases of the Omicron strain among the infected.

Why isn't the gov giving out free rapid antigen tests to people who want to go to pubs, gyms and similar indoor places where you take your 😷 off. Im sure it will cost less than a potential hospital stay.
