A person infected with the Omicron variant of COVID-19 has been admitted to hospital in New South Wales, as the state detected the variant outside of Sydney.
NSW now has 55 cases of the variant, a daily increase of 10, and recorded 485 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths on Sunday. Hunter New England Local Health District said it had one case of Omicron, and the Newcastle community has been put on high alert after someone suspected to have the Omicron variant visited The Argyle House nightclub.- 2 are from Maitland LGA- 1 active case confirmed with Omicron

The third dose increases immunity, so after the fourth dose we are protected, and once 80% of the population receives the fifth dose, the restrictions can be relaxed, because the virus stops spreading because of the sixth dose.
