It comes as two of the country's leading health officials issued stark assessments about the spread of coronavirus.
"The virus is now prolific in most communities and nobody wants to be the next hospitalised case," he wrote on Twitter. The Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tony Holohan, reiterated his call for everyone to reduce social interaction significantly "Keep your contacts low and avoid crowds; Wear a mask correctly; Meet outside if possible; Avoid poorly ventilated indoor spaces; Practice good hand and respiratory hygiene."
People need to have it "clear in their heads that never have we been so exposed to Covid as we are now."
So we know that 120ish people caught Covid in hospital. How many of those are in ICU. Also why has the number of ICU beds not increased since the start of Covid. Time to start asking the hard questions
They gave us window dressed numbers of unvaccinated 2 weeks ago and grabbed onto them like a winning lottery ticket. So how many unvacced today please, not disclosed here. And the proportion of unvaccinated in wards too please. Its within the public interest to know this.
My heart goes out to those in healthcare. In particular nurses and respiratory therapists.
