ChiefMedicalOfficer DrTonyHolohan said the reintroduction of restrictions could not be ruled out as Covid cases continue to rise

He advised the Government to encourage people to use antigen tests if they have been socialising in large groups to try and curtail the rising case numbers.

He said people should “consider self-testing on a serial basis, at a minimum of twice-weekly spaced by three days.” He said: "If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, you should assume that you have this virus, self-isolate immediately and arrange a test.Dr Holohan said Ireland’s Covid situation is ‘concerning’ and uncertain.
