The plan for additional investigations into China’s role in the outbreak of the coronavirus was rubbished by the country’s National Health Commission Vice President, Zeng Yixin, at a press conference on Wednesday .
During a United Nations briefing on Friday, WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic dismissed China’s suggestions the second probe was politically motivated. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus last week conceded it was a mistake to rule out the Wuhan lab-leak theory so quickly.The White House has also responded saying the Biden administration is “deeply disappointed” and considers China’s refusal to cooperate “irresponsible” and “dangerous”.
Ms Psaki stressed the US – in partnership with other members of the UN – is calling on China “to provide the needed access to data and samples”.
Amazingly, if you spend a year telling the world China is evil, China doesn't want to play with you.
