Campers who are fully vaccinated don’t need to wear face masks or physically distance, federal health officials said Friday, the latest recommendation easing recommended pandemic restrictions.
Yet camps should encourage children and staff who aren’t fully vaccinated to wear a mask, especially indoors in areas where Covid-19 is spreading, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said. The recommendations are the latest from the CDC, which had recently advised that fully vaccinated people, in large groups or small.
That update had left some questions unanswered, including what campers, travelers and schools should do, given that those settings involve people being in close quarters. The newest recommendation appears to be the start of the CDC’s effort to answer the questions and give more precise guidance,
