'Choosing to put politics and political elections above the health of our democracy is unconscionable,' the Democratic senator said. 'And the betrayal of the oath we each take is something they will have to live with.'

The six Republican senators were Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Ben Sasse of Nebraska,of Utah and Rob Portman of Ohio—all of who received praise from Manchin for voting in favor of the bill.
