HSE still in talks to secure private hospital capacity amid NPHET warning of potential Covid surgeThe takeover of private hospitals at the beginning of the pandemic cost the State €305 million over the space of three months, and talks remain ongoing between the HSE and private hospitals to access private capacity again heading into the winter. That €305mln should have been spent on extra beds and ICU units not on taking over private hospitals. Pointless to spend any extra money on renting out private hospitals while public ones are not well equipped Not sure how I feel about this And it was a complete rip-off disaster. Jesus, they’re determined to make the same mistakes over and over again albeit, you’d have to question exactly how much corruption is going on given some of the extraordinary financial dealings which have taken place.
