NPHET will meet today to discuss the path of Covid-19 in Ireland as Opposition parties called on the Government to clarify what it knew at the weekend about the rising level of concern in NPHET about the increase in Covid-19 cases

Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has said he is "deeply concerned" by the spread of the coronavirus since Sunday, when NPHET recommended the country be placed at Level 5, the highest level of restrictions.

He emphasised the importance of people following the measures to help control the spread of the disease. Dr Holohan said he spoke to Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly last Saturday and again both before and after NEPET met on Sunday.

See the dumbies are turning on each other now.. politicking to the grave 🙄 ffs

Open the country!

At this point its irrelevant, just like most of the opposition

What even is that cover photo

Yes but what do they want to clarify? Is it just to go to level 5 and disagree with the governments decision just for the sake of politics or what 🙄🤷🏻‍♂️

Level 5 would have crashed the economy....No country has gone into 2nd lockdown apart from Israel...and Victoria in Australia.....

HSE still in talks to secure private hospital capacity amid NPHET warning of potential Covid surgeThe takeover of private hospitals at the beginning of the pandemic cost the State €305 million over the space of three months, and talks remain ongoing between the HSE and private hospitals to access private capacity again heading into the winter. That €305mln should have been spent on extra beds and ICU units not on taking over private hospitals. Pointless to spend any extra money on renting out private hospitals while public ones are not well equipped Not sure how I feel about this And it was a complete rip-off disaster. Jesus, they’re determined to make the same mistakes over and over again albeit, you’d have to question exactly how much corruption is going on given some of the extraordinary financial dealings which have taken place.
