Victorian Health Minister Jenny Mikakos has taken a parting shot at state Premier Daniel Andrews in a strongly worded statement following her resignation from Cabinet. It comes as Ms Mikakos resigned from Cabinet on Saturday after Premier Andrews named her accountable for Melbourne’s failed hotel quarantine program at Friday’s inquiry.
The statement, released on Saturday by the outgoing health minister, reads: “I have always put everything into my Ministerial responsibilities. I have never wanted to leave a job unfinished. “But in light of the Premier’s statement to the Inquiry and the fact that there are elements in it that I strongly disagree with, I believe that I cannot continue to serve in his Cabinet. “I am disappointed that my integrity has sought to be undermined.
