Coronavirus restrictions on dancing in Tasmania have been relaxed to allow bridal parties on the dancefloor at weddings, the Premier says, as he announces everyone arriving in the state will undergo health screening from next week.

Grace period for Tasmanians returning from Queensland hotspots

Mr Gutwein also announced new quarantine arrangements for people returning to Tasmania from the three COVID-19 hotspots in Queensland that were declared on Wednesday — the local government areas of Brisbane, Ipswich and Logan. Tasmanians who have spent time in those areas in the 14 days before returning home need to spend their 14 days of quarantine in a government-run quarantine hotel.

"At the end of October, we'll conduct a review for the appropriate course of action, dependent on the situation at that time as we move towards the 1st of December, which is the date that we have specified that we'll be looking to opening our borders," Mr Gutwein said.
