Tourism and Transport Forum CEO Margy Osmond says she is anticipating Australians will be “discovering a whole lot of new and wonderful regional communities to visit” while international borders are closed.

Ms Osmond told Sky News regional tourism will likely present an opportunity for creating new jobs in communities which will help to boost economic recovery. “As the health situation improves and they’re feeling more comfortable welcoming people I think we’re going to see a whole lot of new product and great new developments in regional communities to entice even more travellers,” she said. “We’ll have a whole raft of wonderful new product to offer international visitors.
