A dust haze blanket has descended on south-east Queensland. 9News

A health alert has been issued by the Queensland Government Department of Environment and Science.

Springfield, Southport, Woolloongabba, South Brisbane, Rocklea, Brisbane CBD, Lytton and Cannon Hill are among the locations seeing an elevated level of "health action". There are five levels, five being the highest, and the rating currently sits at level two across those locations. Most people are able to go about their normal activities but sensitive groups are urged to monitor the situation and their health.Brisbane residents awoke to a blanket of dust across the city this morning, with many people assuming it was smoke haze carried from bushfires in northern NSW."A little hazy about south-east Queensland and Northern New South Wales this morning due to some dust picked up from the interior in windy conditions yesterday," the BOM said.
