Labor Senator Kristina Keneally says her advocacy to limit temporary migration into Australia is not an endorsement of One Nation leader Pauline Hanson’s policies. The One Nation leader stood up in the Senate yesterday and accused Ms Keneally of copying her policy stances on immigration since 1996. The comments come after Senator Keneally penned an article in Nine newspapers earlier this month urging policy makers to “put Australian jobs first” and limit temporary migration.

” “As economist Stephen Koukoulas pointed out before the crisis, there are 725,000 unemployed and 1,150,000 underemployed Australians who, with the right training, would love to have these roles. Ms Keneally told Sky News her article doesn’t support Ms Hanson’s anti-immigration stance. “I talked about how we are a country built by migration,” she said.
