The General Secretary of the INMO has said she’s not surprised by the cancellation of a proposed childcare scheme for healthcare workers

The General Secretary of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has said she was not surprised by the cancellation of a proposed childcare scheme for frontline healthcare workers.

Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Katherine Zappone said just six childcare providers had signed up to be part of the service."I suppose it is a bit of a lesson – you have to engage in consultations with those that will be using the service, but also those who you expect to provide it". Speaking on the same programme, she said that while there were always going to be issues with garda vetting and insurance, it's "disappointing" that those issues were not dealt with.
