China reported on Saturday a rise in new coronavirus cases, as authorities try to head off a second wave of infections, particularly from imported and asymptomatic cases, as curbs on cities and travel are lifted. Follow our live coverage:

NSW Police have issued 50 fines already across the Easter long weekend, with officers cracking down on those travelling for the holidays.

When asked why she was in Belvoir Street she told police "it’s a free country" before she was fined $1000.One $1000 fine also went to an 18-year-old who was caught walking with two others and holding a case of beer in South Grafton, who had been previously warned by police. Investigations into a number of baggage handlers at Adelaide Airport also continue following a number of handlers coming down with the virus.The new case is not related to the airport or baggage handlers but SA Health are still tracing how the person contracted the virus.

SA Premier Steven Marshall has cut off the state from the rest of Australia with tough border restrictions.SAHMRI chief executive Professor Steve Wesselingh said the trial will have "impacts right across Australia".
