In a series of tweets, Foreign Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr said he will fight the temporary ban on the deployment of health workers amid the coronavirus pandemic. COVID19PH FULL STORY:

Locsin had been tweeting since Friday, April 10, when immigration officials kept Filipino nurses working for the United Kingdom's National Health Service from catching their flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, following“This violates the Constitution in 3 ways: right to travel, inviolability of contracts, punitive ex-post facto resolution,” Locsin said.

He said he wants the matter to be on the meeting agenda of the Inter-Agency Task Force on the coronavirus pandemic“I want this on the agenda of the IATF meeting on Monday. No discussion. Long discussions spread COVID-19 as we have seen even via teleconference. Just a raising of hands – for our people or against our people. Also no one talks who is not a Cabinet member,” Locsin said.

Someone responded to Locsin’s tweet by saying that it was not the time to criticize the government and that Filipinos need to trust that their government was doing its “best” to help them amid the pandemic. British Ambassador Daniel Bruce thanked Locsin and DFA Undersecretary Brigido Dulay via Twitter and said,"I do hope we can resolve this issue so that brilliant Filipino healthcare workers, already employed by the #NHS, can get back to the UK to carry on with their jobs."

Ngayon lang nakita ang kahalagahan ng health workers na matagal nang nagtitiis sa mababang sahod tapos ipagkakait pa ang karapatang kumita ng malaki sa ibang bansa ano ba namang sistema iyan

Fight ka mag isa

There are nurses who have spent thousands of money already for the processing, have taken exams to qualify. These are the nurses who were victims of false volunteerism, had to pay 1k for Certificate of employment. Have to work in call centers because no hospital will hire them

Violation of the Constitution... Oh yeah, you got a call from the West Philippine Sea. ChineseEnabler ChinesePerfidy

Calling DDS, “delawan” spotted on in the name of Teodoro Locsin Jr, Foreign Affairs Secretary, a member of Digong’s cabinet. Bayanihan Heal as One but you can’t agree amongst yourselves in the government. How do you expect all Filipinos to follow and agree with you?

Ang unfair lang. Ni hindi man lang sila ang nagbayad sa TF sa school or nagbibigay ng sapat na sweldo tapos ibaban pa.

Tama nman si locsin..

Playing butterfly, the boat is sinking.

Chinito Barrister asks - will it be a(nother) twitter yak-fest or a real cabinet level slugfest with Sec. Bello? teddyboylocsin doleph

Siguro kung sinuswelduhan niyo sila ng tama at may tamang pagkikilala ang gobyerno sakanila - hindi na pupulitika ay hindi naman aalis ang mga yan.

I find it too selfish to deprive the workers of a better opportunity abroad esp if PH cant compensate them well.
