MANILA — The Philippines suspended the deployment of doctors, nurses and healthcare workers abroad to preserve its frontline force against the COVID-19 pandemic, the overseas job-matching office said.
The moratorium took effect on April 2, said Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Concerns Brigido Dulay. The POEA board also suspended negotiations of bilateral labor agreements for government to government deployment of health care workers "until the duration of the national state of emergency."
