– The Metro Bacolod District Jail , a female dormitory in Barangay Handumanan here, recognized the vital role of health workers in the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 on Tuesday.
About 100 persons deprived of liberty and 12 jail personnel, including warden Jail Insp. Ma. Lorelie Dimaculangan, performed Rachel Platten’s song “Fight Song”, then showing their snappiest salute to honor the bravery and contribution of the medical frontliners while the world faces a health crisis brought by COVID-19.
They posted a video of their one-minute-and-a half dance tribute on their official Facebook account, garnering 2,600 views, 210 reactions and 114 shares, as of this posting. Dimaculangan said that their tribute was also in celebration of World Health Day to acknowledge the effort of the health workers who put their lives at risk to save people sick with COVID-19.
They expressed their gratitude to the nurses, midwives, doctors, and other health workers, who play a critical role in keeping the world healthy.They also called on the whole nation to support those who hold the line, for in unity, the Filipino will find the strength to survive.
