The Department of Health in Bicol (DOH-Bicol) issued a statement on Thursday, condemning any form of discrimination against health workers, patients with confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and their families.

In his statement, DOH-Bicol regional director Dr. Ernie Vera said that he recieved reports that some of the patients, as well as health workers, were being harassed by local residents, with some resorting to even stoning the victims’ houses or shaming them in social media sites.
