A Toorak doctor who has tested positive for coronavirus consulted about 70 Melbourne patients for five days while infected.
Health authorities are 'flabbergasted' a Toorak doctor with flu-like symptoms continued to treat about 70 patients while concerns for coronavirus surge. He developed the runny nose on an internal flight from Denver to San Francisco on February 27 and then flew from San Francisco to Melbourne on flight UA0060 arriving at 9.30am on February 29.The medical clinic has been closed and all patients that came into contact with the doctor, as well as clinic staff, are required to self-isolate for 14 days.
" will present at the ED triage, and will then be sent to the screening clinic for testing. In coming days, some hospitals will establish separate entrances." "Doctors who have been travelling to high risk countries should have a high level of suspicion should they develop any respiratory tract symptoms, or even gastrointestinal symptoms. They should not go to work," he said.
He did nothing wrong! He came from the US which had a very low number of cases, the government has no special policy for travelers from US so why should he be the only one to quarantine? The government should of course shut our borders completely. LNP COVID19
Case of a Cabinet Minister making a fool of them selves by going of half cocked. Could politicians just shut up, piss off & leave this & the climate crisis to qualified and experienced experts. Also , who gives a stuff who the Doctors daughter is & how is it of any relevance.

Make sure you only use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content, the fancy alcohol free ones are useless against Coronavirus.
Globalbiosec Did he know he was positive or found out later?
Areogance at its finest by the old man
His clinic probably wasn’t able to source any mask. NSWHealth pls distribute your stock pile to health care worker. Why are you taking his risk?
Any medical professional coming from overseas should self quarantine for 14 days.

That doctor should be charged with negligence.
All casual workers will go to work if they have mild symptoms. They have no sick leave. They cannot afford to take a couple of weeks off.
Wear masks.
Anyone that puts other lives in danger should face serious consequences. In Singapore, if you lie about your previous travel you can get a $10,000 fine or jail.
Seriously concerning
70 in five days Country Doctors would see 70 by early after noon on day one. Toorak Doctor is lazy or actually taking great money from each Consultation And doing a proper check Although having not healed ONES SELF. questions are there
Could we have skype, or facetime type consultations with our GPs (for other illnesses) to minimise coming into contact with medical staff?
That is not acceptable as he is a doctor.

The cost of the Australia's public health response to coronavirus could be as high as $1 billionThe Morrison government has struck a deal with the states and territories to bear the health costs of COVID-19 on a 50/50 basis. Thats funny, cos Scotty 100% let in but will only pay 50% of health costs. What about medical staff that have to self quarantine because an infected person attended their facility without pre-notifying, like the 15 people at Mater hospital not able to work for the next 2 weeks? Is that a cost they wear themselves?
