Mother ‘left toddler in hot car during social services interview about her parenting’

Jennifer Ost reportedly left her toddler son in a sweltering car during a social services interview about her parenting skills at Anderson Community Hospital in Indiana

A mother left her toddler in a hot car during a social services interview about her parenting skills, police say. Jennifer Ost, 27, reportedly abandoned the boy in the sweltering vehicle on Tuesday after being summoned to explain why she’d checked her newborn out of hospital against medical advice. During that interview with social workers at the Community Pediatrics clinic in Anderson, Indiana, Ost was ‘evasive belligerent and cursing’ according to court documents.

Almost two hours after the interview began, the hospital received a phone call saying a boy had been spotted abandoned in a car.He was watching a movie on a cellphone, with the temperature 86F outside, and far warmer in the vehicle.
