Queensland Health warns anyone on VA1397 or at Brisbane Domestic Airport last Friday evening should be on high alert.

A passenger on a Brisbane-bound flight from Adelaide has been diagnosed with the "highly infectious disease" of measles, sparking a warning from Queensland Health.

Anyone who was aboard Virgin Airlines flight VA 1397 and who were at Brisbane Domestic Airport between 5pm and 6pm on Friday, June 28 should be on high alert for potential symptoms.Credit:Metro South public health physician Dr Satyamurthy Anuradha said the patient lived on Brisbane's southside and anyone who displayed symptoms should seek immediate health advice.fever, runny nose, tiredness and sore, red eyes," she said.

"If people are adequately vaccinated with two recorded doses of Measles Mumps Rubella vaccine, they are very unlikely to get the disease. "Those who are unsure or have concerns about their immunity to measles should contact their doctor to check whether they have had two doses of the vaccine.staff can take precautions to avoid spreading the disease to others," Dr Anu said.

About 30 per cent of adults with measles will be hospitalised and Queensland Health offers free vaccines to anyone who was born in 1966 or later and who have not had two doses of the MMR vaccine.
