On Wednesday the ABC reported Milat had lost 20 kilograms over the past few months, quoting a source close to his family who said he was suffering from geriatric anorexia and was "dangerously thin".
According to the ABC, Milat's rapid weight loss prompted his admission to the Randwick hospital, with possible organ failure being examined, however tests instead revealed the 74-year-old was in the advanced stages of cancer. The former road worker was sentenced in 1996 to seven consecutive life sentences for murdering seven backpackers whose bodies were found in makeshift graves in NSW's Belanglo State Forest in the 1990s.Serial killer Ivan Milat.
It is understood he will not return to Goulburn supermax, but will instead be transferred to a hospital ward at Long Bay Prison.Earlier this week, Corrective Services NSW Commissioner Peter Severin said prisoner transfers were done in the "most secure and safe way possible". High-risk and terrorism-related inmates are always guarded by specialist staff from the extreme high-security escort unit, a corrective services spokeswoman said.
LucyCormack Forgive me, but WHY are taxpayers footing the bill for ANY of the scum who get marched into that ward? I feel terrible for the good Drs and Nurses, who, probably against their own personal morals, have to care for these animals, as though they deserve it. 🤬🤬
LucyCormack No one gave a shit when my grandpa was diagnosed with terminal cancer, why do you think anyone gives a shit about this guy .
LucyCormack Na send him back let him rot
LucyCormack Why are we wasting money and more importantly stretched resources on this cruel and wicked man. Surely taking him back to his cell and letting nature take its course is a kinder consideration than that which he gave his victims. & protects our medical professionals from his vile

LucyCormack I hope the bastard suffers and suffers and suffers
LucyCormack At least trial new medication on him. If it works he lives longer but society gets something too.
LucyCormack Take him to Belangalo and watch him suffer
LucyCormack Why am I as a taxpayer in NSW providing the coin for him to be kept alive. Our pets are given the ‘green dream’ so why not let him get the death penalty. Diabetes sufferers have to pay for their own needles, but we are paying to keep him alive? For what purpose?
LucyCormack Let me suffer like what he did to his victims - I call it Karma
LucyCormack “The moral arc of the universe is long but it bends towards justice.” - Theodore Parker
