THOSE who regularly skip breakfast are at risk of heart disease by up to 87 per cent, a shock new study found.

Boffins were able to identify a clear link between people’s breakfast habits and the risk of heart disease.Getty - ContributorThe authors of the study said: “Breakfast is believed to be an important meal of the day, whereas there has been an increasing prevalence of skipping breakfast over the past 50 years in the United States, with as many as 23.8 percent of young people skipping breakfast every day.

They noted however those who don’t eat breakfast may be more inclined to snack unhealthily throughout the day.The findings were published in the American College of Cardiology.
