Another man aged in his 60s was found alive and has been airlifted to hospital in Galway, where he continues to receive treatment

A man has died after getting into trouble in the water near Teelin Pier in Co Donegal this afternoon. It’s understood that he had been diving with another man who is receiving treatment in hospital after being recovered from the water.

One of the divers who was aged in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other, who is aged in his 60s, was treated at the scene before being airlifted to University Hospital Galway .READ MORE: Soldier who beat woman unconscious pleads for his job as victim demands his dismissal “Gardaí received a request for assistance from the Coast Guard following an incident in Teelin Bay, Co Donegal on Saturday afternoon, 22nd June 2024,” he told the Irish Mirror.

A diving event, the North-West Dive Rally, is taking place in Donegal this weekend, with competitors coming from across the country to dive at sites including Sliabh Liag and Malin Beg.
