The products being recalled are sold in healthcare settings

A number of sandwiches, paninis and wraps being sold in healthcare settings are urgently being recalled. The Food Standards Agency said there are concerns that some products could contain listeria.

People are being urged not to eat the products and return it to gain a refund. The FSA said: "The Real Wrap Company Ltd is taking the precautionary action of recalling ready-to-eat products including sandwiches, paninis, rolls, toasties and wraps because of the possible presence of listeria monocytogenes. This recall only affects products sold at retail stores in health care settings.

"Symptoms caused by this organism can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis."Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including older people, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.

"Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products. "If you have bought any of the above products from health care settings, do not eat it. Instead, return it to where it was bought for a refund. For further information, please contact the Real Wrap Company at enquiries@realwrap.co.uk."
