Labor unveils a $115 million plan for Indigenous health, pledging nearly a quarter of that spending to help address the alarming rate of youth suicide.

The announcement in the Northern Territory on Thursday marks the seventh day in a row the ALP's election campaign has focused on health.

Rheumatic heart disease is also entirely preventable — but children in the Northern Territory community of Maningrida have the highest known rates in the world.

The problem is that they also have the right to do stupid things to themselves that guarantee that they will not grow old. Sure stop the child molestations that trigger the suicides, but don't lie to yourself about the rest unless you take their sugar, booze and smokes away too.

That's really gracious of Bill to let them grow old. Can he explain a bit more?
