Bill Shorten has promised to flood an extra $2.8 billion into state hospitals. 9News

"Labor doesn't need a campaign of lies about the Liberals because the truth is scary enough," she told the crowd.

Mr Shorten is counting on health funding to win votes, including a $2.8 billion promise to top up the coalition's health agreement with the states so Canberra pays half of health costs. Labor also promised to seek a new agreement with the states that would return to a 50/50 funding split over time."I cannot promise these people that victory is assured.

"I can most certainly promise that my team and I will work as hard as we can every day between now and the election."Mr Shorten also attacked the "gift" of franking credits, which the Centre Alliance says it will reject in the Senate unless changes are made. Labor frontbencher Jim Chalmers said the party was seeking a mandate to change franking credit rules, but would deal with the Senate Australians vote for.

Amazing ! All of a sudden there is billions $$ pledged for our hospitals ! Why does it always take a coming election to get these promises ! Politicians only care about their high paying jobs, not us !

So which state is going to lose more in their GST?

Where does he get the money from?

Channel Nine the labor channel

Governments through out history have always overspent buying themselves votes and favour w promises but debase the currency in the process which is akin to stealing only surrepticious

Pink twizzle he is.

In the scheme of the cost of running state hospitals in Australia 2.8 billion is a drop in the bucket. When he promises something real then I'll listen.

Should not have to wait for election to splash cash around

Where is he getting the funds from? Is it a diversion program off the back of other cuts to areas, or just ramping up the tax rates from Aussies..... will anyone be honest in this election? Australia is heading in a dark direction if Shorten gets in!

More pork barreling. We want to hear real things like his stance on vegan terrorists

Great they can get the money off those tax dodgers like mining companies and all those other LNP mongrels to pay for this and more

And were is he going to get that money from

Yeah but who us he going to steal it from?

Really And I work for a public hospital, so many medications You wouldn’t cover that would help ease the suffering of so many that I looked after. Would never vote for you!

Bullocks .

Great but where does he get that extra 2.8 billion.Oh that’s right from the hard working people that have save over their working lives

Will that make the doctors more competent and nurses less Bitchy?

Labor ripped Billion out of PBS & hospitals funding. when last in gov... how is Kevin Rudd going why hasn't he been out spruiking the worth of the last Labor Gov if it was so good... so only a few Billion left to find ... Don't worry LNP already covered it, wheres swanny hiding?

FFS More Bill Shite
