The lease for Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute’s current location at 2501 N. Third St. in Harrisburg will expire on May 31, 2026. Penn State Health said that to date the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute has been unable to extend its lease. Because of that, Penn State Health said it must consider other site options for the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute in order to ensure continuity of services for its patients.

Penn State Health said it expects to announce a decision on the future locations of the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute’s inpatient and outpatient services by early summer. “We are committed to making the transition as seamless as possible and to minimize any disruption of care and services for our patients and their families, clinicians, staff, educators, students and researchers,” Dr. Erika Saunders, chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Penn State Health Milton S.
