Our work is ultimately tied to our interest in developing a better understanding of how the nervous system functions and the roles that ion channels and ion channel auxiliary subunits play in normal and abnormal function of the nervous system. We are looking for a motivated, organized, and Research Associate to join a research team investigating fundamental principles that regulate neuronal excitability and how their disruption leads to abnormal brain function.
Maintain the functionality of the laboratory including inventory control and resource management and maintaining careful research notes Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily operations of the laboratory including the inventory control, supplies and pharmaceuticalsEnsure laboratory compliance with all relevant regulationsConduct thorough literature reviews and synthesizes pertinent information to support research objectivesSupervise a junior technician and help train students rotating in the lab to perform the basic experiments that we run in the labMaster's degree in Basic Science or a related field.
Three years of relevant experience typically as a Research Assistant, Research Technician or Postdoctoral Fellow/Associate.Should have excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to work independently, collaboratively, and cooperatively without constant supervision, and a passion for neuroscience research.Have the ability to learn new techniques and work carefully with sensitive laboratory equipment.
