A nephew of Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch has been jailed for 21 months for attempting to rob a woman who was withdrawing money from an ATM.

He was remanded in custody and remains in custody since he was refused bail in April 2023. Alan Hutch is a son of Eddie Hutch who was murdered at his home on February 8, 2016, in a revenge attack for the notorious Regency Hotel shooting three days earlier.

“Gardai are well aware of the feud and certain operation matters were put in place to protect family members,” Mr Cooney said. Mr Cooney said since being admitted to Cloverhill Hutch has engaged with mental health services and has been put on a waiting list for the Central Mental Hospital and is responding well to his medication.
