The plan was endorsed by the Federal Executive Council in September 2018 and was launched in January.

The Federal Capital Territory is to spend about N162 billion for its five-year Strategic Health Development Plan , the minister of the territory, Muhammad Bello, has said.The minister, who was represented by the Secretary, Health and Human Services Secretariat, Adamu Bappah, said the FCT SHDP was approved in August 2017.

“Thirteen primary health care clinics have been constructed and ten solar-powered boreholes provided among others. In her goodwill message, Furaira Zakari, FCT Representative for the World Health Organisation , said the SHDP was in line with the UN policy on healthcare in Nigeria.
