The women's health fair took place today at Allen Park. Attendees could take part in health care screenings, and a vaccine clinic. Local community resources were also on hand.

Women gathered on Tuesday at Allen Park Community Center in Jonesboro for Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Take Good Care of Her, a women's health fair.

“We wanna get out here and educate the women on how important it is to take care of their health,” said Kaitlin Bates, Arkansas BCBS ARHome Quality Manager. “We wanted to come out to Jonesboro today to meet our members where they live. See what they need health wise, offer services to them.” According to the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement, in 2023, Arkansas ranks below the national average when it comes to reproductive and women’s health, ranking 46 out of 50 states for cervical and breast cancer deaths.

Community resources like NEA Baptist, the Hispanic Center, Options on Main Pregnancy Resource Center, and the Family Crisis Center had information ready to hand to those passing by.
