The 71-year-old victim has on her way to Frankley Health Centre, near Birmingham , yesterday afternoon to collect a prescription when she was approached by the alleged mugger.

A shocking video captures the moment an elderly woman is mugged by a 'knife-wielding' thief in broad daylight.

In the video, the victim can be seen walking ahead of the mugger. They then rush alongside her and start trying to wrestle her handbag off her shoulder. The victim's son speaking to MailOnline says his mother lost £100 in cash as well as her credit cards and her house keys. Her son said: 'She's very scared after what happened and she's dealing with it the best she can'

He added: 'She walked into the health centre and they were really helpful they called the police and they called me. They also helped her cancel all her cards.In a statement, West Midland Police said: 'We're investigating after a woman was robbed in Birmingham yesterday .
