For the second year in a row, Mobile’s Youth Violence Prevention Program and Dillard’s joined forces for the Rock the Runway Teen Model Showcase.“Suicide is never the answer. Just know that there are other options and someone there to help you,” said Amaya Lewis.“These young ladies are beautiful, intelligent young ladies from across all schools in Mobile. These are leaders in their schools and community.
YVP coordinator Joshua Jones says there have been two youth suicides in Mobile since the start of the school year. Jones says he hopes this event will raise up confident, supported young women who will make a difference in their schools. “We have gotten so much closer,” added Rivers. “We compliment each other and we’re there to support each other, and it’s amazing.”
