Eden Astley, from Haslingden, raised £554 in just two days

A kindhearted girl has donated her hair which will be transformed into a wig for a child with cancer.

Eden Astley, from Haslingden, has donated 12 inches of her locks to The Little Princess Trust to be made into a wig. Eden, seven, excitedly arrived at Heads Above in Haslingden on Friday, February 23 ready for her hair to be snipped for a good cause. When staff found out why she was having her hair cut they kindly did not charge for the cut. It costs the Trust to £550 to make the wig so she asked her mother, Frances Burrows to set up a Just Giving page to cover the cost.Frances said: “We are incredibly proud of her. She said that she would like to grow another 12 inches of her hair and keep donating.

“She had been talking about having her hair cut for a while and then we found out that there was an option to donate. She decided this is what she wanted to do and get her hair cut shorter than she originally planned so that she could donate it.” Frances says the fundraising page will be kept open for another month if people would like to donate more to the Trust. To donate visit Frances Burrows’ Just Giving page titled ‘Eden’s fundraiser for Little Princess Trust’.
