The Osun Health Insurance Agency (OHIA) has released an itinerary for the enrollment of pensioners into the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS). This comes after a directive by the state governor, Ademola Adeleke. Governor Adeleke had directed that pensioners in the state should be enrolled in the state's health insurance scheme.

Dr Akintunde Akindele, the OHIS Executive Secretary, during the last quarterly forum meeting with healthcare providers on Thursday in Osogbo, confirmed the directive. Akindele revealed that the Agency will enroll 19,000 pensioners into the scheme.

According to a schedule signed by Akindele and obtained on Sunday, the enrollment will commence on Monday, November 6, 2023. 'The enrollment will be held in all local government areas between Monday and Wednesday. 'The action is in line with Adeleke’s commitment to bring healthcare delivery to all nooks and crannies of the state and to cater to the medical needs of senior citizens.'
