Despite initial protests, doctors discovered a 5cm tumour in her brain, but due to her chronic illness, surgery was deemed too risky. The woman's health rapidly deteriorated before she passed away in October.

A grieving Scots daughter has told how she 'didn't recognise' her mum before she died from a brain tumour.

Over the coming months her health rapidly deteriorated before she passed away at Hairmyres Hospital on October 19. "We phoned an ambulance and they took her up to Wishaw General Hospital and admitted her straight away. Anna Marie had struggled with her health for most of her life after being born with Hidradenitis Suppurativa, a rare skin condition that affected her mobility. By 2002, she was housebound, with Alanna and her sister Nataliya, 33, soon becoming young carers for their mum.
