The Trump administration will appear today before a federal judge to defend one of its most consequential and controversial moves on health insurance — a green light for states to require their Medicaid enrollees to work or volunteer.
Whether it’s legal under federal law for states to impose such requirements is the key question at stake here. I just don’t get Medicaid work requirements. Sick children have to work to get treatment? Handicapped people? Pregnant ladies? WHO IS GOING TO HIRE THEM?
