Canadian cannabis company Cronos Group Inc. CRON, -2.14% CRON, -2.07% said Monday it has sold all of its shares in Whistler Medical Marijuana Corp.

, equal to a roughly 19% stake, to Aurora Cannabis Inc. ACB, -0.82% ACB, -1.63% for C$175 million in stock. Cronos has received about 2.5 million Aurora shares worth about C$24.6 million and will receive another C$7.6 million upon reaching certain milestones. Cronos shares rose 1.6% premarket and have gained 131% in the last 12 months, while the S&P 500 SPX, +0.33% has gained 4.2%.

Co.'s owning parts of or invested in other companies. Everyone seems to want, piece of someone's else's action. I always thought of this as being either survival & or safety net tactic. fall back on during hard times. Also, park money, make more money. reposition if need be
