A dad-of-five who tried to take his own life on a family holiday has bravely spoken out on his mental health battle
"It started when I fell into addiction and using cannabis just to get through the day. I tried to go cold turkey without any help and then everything came to a head at a family meal. I did not get my own way and Just didn't feel any worth being on the planet." "I once woke up at 3am and started making notes all over the walls because my mind was just running so quickly... I was working full-time until the winter of last year and it came to a head. It put me in a dark place."
Matt is now doing a rod race in honour of his mother which will see him fish from Hurlston Hall to Parco Del Brenta in Italy – over 1200 miles away - via various fisheries across the UK.
