Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas has announced the heartbreaking news that his dad has passed away following a long battle with cancer. The Mancunian soap star took to Instagram to share an emotional tribute to his dad, who said was his 'best mate' and a 'true legend'.
Jamie, who plays Warren Fox in Channel 4's Hollyoaks, revealed his dad's prostate cancer diagnosis back in 2020 when he signed up to ITV's The Real Full Monty on Ice, which aims to raise awareness of cancers in intimate areas of the body, such as the prostate and breast.Speaking to The Mirror he said he wanted to "give something back" for his dad by taking part in the show, which sees celebrities recreate the famous film about a group of strippers.
Richard Blackwood, who plays Warren's on-screen best friend Felix Westwood said: "Bro I’m so sorry for your loss! I know this can’t be easy and I’m here if you need me." Former Hollyoaks star Anthony Quinlan, who played Gilly Roach told him: "Bro I’m so gutted for you and the family, heaven has gained a good one, Jazzy was one in a million! Thinking of you all r kid and I’m here if any of you need anything.
The couple were introduced through mutual friends before they fell for each other. Speaking to OK Magazine, Jamie said: “We built the friendship first – we both thought that was important – and then something deeper grew out of that. Then one day I came home and noticed her toothbrush had taken up residence in the bathroom. Then it was deodorant and perfume. Next thing she’d moved an entire shelf of her stuff in.
